From analysis to digital application.
We combine energy management and technical energy expertise with geoinformatics, data analysis and artificial intelligence. This creates solutions for buildings, districts and entire cities.
We develop digital energy cadastres that visualize complex energy relationships at building and district level. AI and data-based models enable analyses even for large building stocks.
We link building, environmental and geodata and make spatial relationships analyzable. Using GIS-based methods, we identify potential and create reliable data foundations for planning and decision-making.
We advise residential building owners on energy-efficient renovations – from on-site analysis and individual renovation roadmaps to funding advice for single measures or a full efficiency-house renovation.
Office buildings, schools and commercial properties place special demands on energy consulting. We analyze usage, technical systems and operating hours to develop tailored renovation strategies for complex building stocks.
Energy measures must not only work technically, but also make economic sense. We compare variants and consider energy consumption, investments and CO2 emissions.
Future forecasts come with uncertainties. We analyze how robust results are to changed assumptions and help develop concepts that remain viable under different conditions.
We make energy and climate visible.
Buildings and cities consist of a multitude of interconnected factors. Energy consumption, building structure, weather, use and technical systems influence each other. Our work combines this information and translates it into understandable analyses, maps and digital applications.
We collect, structure and link relevant building, energy and geodata.
We use simulations, statistical methods and AI to map complex relationships and forecast developments.
We make results interactive and understandable – from maps and dashboards to digital specialist applications.
Data becomes concrete decision-making foundations for planning, renovation and climate adaptation.
Research becomes application.
In research and development projects, we combine scientific methods with practical application. Our goal is to create digital tools that make complex issues understandable and usable.
The digital cooling cadastre for climate-resilient cities.
Cities are getting hotter – planning tools need to be smarter.
Summer heat periods are occurring more frequently and lasting longer. Particularly densely built inner cities are affected by the urban heat island effect: buildings and sealed surfaces store heat and increase the burden on people and infrastructure.
CoolingMap complements existing heat and energy planning with a previously often missing perspective: building-level analysis of future cooling needs.
The project combines geodata, artificial intelligence, building modeling and urban energy simulations to visualize current and future cooling needs. The goal is a digital cooling cadastre that allows buildings, districts and cities to be analyzed in a differentiated way and different future scenarios to be mapped.
Enpageo is a research consortium partner of CoolingMap and is responsible for visualizing and publishing the project results.
Data & Geoinformatics
Processing spatial building and energy data as a basis for analysis.
Visualization
Development of understandable maps and digital representations that make complex results intuitively accessible.
Publication
Development of the digital application for publishing and using the project results.
Making knowledge visible – and usable for planning.
CoolingMap should show where future cooling needs can arise, how they develop and what spatial patterns result. This creates a new data foundation for climate-adapted urban planning, building strategies and future energy infrastructure.
The joint project "CoolingMap – Creation of a building-level cadastre for the analysis and forecasting of cooling requirements in exemplary urban regions in Germany using AI image recognition, building modeling, neural networks and geoinformatics" runs from 2026 to 2029 and is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).
